The idea of bringing together international and Erasmus students to celebrate the National Student Day, came from the ICBAS International Relations and Mobility Office, with the aim of promoting an informal and relaxed meeting between members of the student community.

During this meeting, students from Sudan, Italy, Jordan, Brazil, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Philippines, Spain, Bolivia, Indonesia, Germany, and Poland participated in several ice-breaking activities.

From Italy, Isabela Verdi Pereira, student of the Integrated Master in Medicine, highlighted that this was “a very pleasant experience, as I had not yet the opportunity to be with international students. The activities created a pleasant atmosphere, which provided laughs and good conversations. In the end, I just thought about participating in the next one.”

The Erasmus student of the Degree in Bioengineering, Fatma Zamil, said that this initiative was “super fun and allowed me to meet many new people from ICBAS”.

Claudia Fernandes Hollnagel, Erasmus student of the Integrated Master in Medicine, told us why she participated in the event: “I liked the event because I had the opportunity to meet new people in a quiet context and in a smaller group”.

This ‘Speed Networking’ is part of a series of activities that ICBAS has been developing, such as the reception of international students. Next activity is scheduled for May 31st. More information soon.
